THE LAST RIM MAKER

I am in the business of making people happy. To do this, I’ve revived the art of reproducing vintage automobile and motorcycle rims. I can manufacture a wide range of vintage wheel rims, belt rims and bolts, and even offer my services lacing and truing, as well as dimpling and drilling of wheels.

I’m lucky to have over 45 years as a fitter and turner under my belt, and 50 or so years of being around antique vehicles, which has left me with a broad knowledge of the similarity between makes, early manufacturers and production methods. 

Couple this with high quality Australian made material I am fortunate to have access to, and the machinery and tools I have collected over the years and you get the perfect recipe to manufacture world class rims. If I can do my bit with an essential part such as the wheels, it’s a satisfying journey for everyone involved.

what i've been working on

This is one of a pair of nickel plated 1914 Douglas Wheels I built up from hubs supplied.
My pride & passion goes into building veteran & Vintage motorcycle wheels. All I need is your hubs, and some specs on your rims & spokes and I can build them up . These are 1912 Ariel. Satin black with zinc spokes.
I’ve developed these rims. They look like a clincher C section but have rolled edges and available in 18”, 19”, and 21” in various widths for conventional tyres . They can be dimpled and drilled to suit your hubs. Great for Ve
These are 18" rims for KJ Henderson motorcycles . They are unique with the edge rolled out and under. Was that a challenge or what !!And a few more rollers to make. Henderson#indian #excelsior
I'm extremely proud of these 5 veteran Sunbeam wheels . New centres were cast , machined , drilled and heat treated , then given to me to make new beaded edge rims dimpled & drilled to suit. Spokes were sourced in the UK . I was then able to lace
After a fair bit of thinking and machining up dies , I can now make almost any veteran motorcycle belt or brake rim .This is a pair for a 1914 New Hudson . Any diameter rim and standoff width / profile can be made. Douglas#BSA#Carbine#AKD#triumph#
This batch of 21" rims have been zinc plated just like they were in the good old day . I take pride in producing a quality rim . The zinc plating is a cost effective , durable finish that enhances , not only the rim , but the vehicle it's going
